TRAINING: INFO
A number of training and development opportunities exist within Whittlesea City Little Athletics Centre.
ON TRACK
An athletic skills development program for U6 & U7 athletes which is run in conjunction with the events on competition day.
On Track is an athletic skills development program that will provide all children with increased instruction, practise opportunities and motivation.
The program focuses on the fundamental motor skills, all the way through to the athletic skills.
Children will participate in games, activities and drills that will help them develop their athletic skills for competing in all events.
The U6 and U7 athletes will participate in the On Track program once per week for approximately 25 minutes in addition to competing in 3 events - one run, one jump and one throw.

SQUAD COACHES LIST
Athletes U9+ have access to specialised coaching. The nature of squad coaching necessitates that places are limited.
In addition to traditional Club Training, the Centre has introduced a program of Squad Coaching.
Being trained in one of the developed squads will give athletes access to specialised coaching that Club Training may have difficulty catering for.
Quite a few athletes, particularly experienced ones in the older age groups, prefer to focus their training on a particular event or event group, with coaches specifically trained in those areas.
The Centre is now investing in those coaches and is developing a structure to support these squads as they grow.
Squad Coaches are accredited with Athletics Australia, well trained and experienced. All event types are covered – sprints, hurdles, jumps, throws, walks, and distance running.
The nature of squad coaching necessitates that places are limited and some squads are already full.
If squad training does interest your family, or you would simply like to have a chat about what opportunities might best suit your children with their athletics development, please don’t hesitate to contact
